Oh, it's October! It's Halloween time again, guys!
And since spooky season is here, I suddenly felt like writing about creepy and supernatural stories, just to scare myself. LOL! Just kidding. Kind of. I just want to share and entertain you. ππ
If you are a 90s kid from the Philippines, you know exactly what I mean. Every year, like clockwork, we were all terrified by the TV show *Magandang Gabi... Bayan*. That was our official annual Halloween trauma. I remember I would always wait for it, and then watch the whole episode with one hand covering my eyes. Like, why am I even watching if I'm that scared?
And the best part? After watching a horror special, I would be too scared to go to the bathroom alone. I had to ask someone to come with me. So I would intentionally watch something scary just to scare myself, and then I can't even function after. The logic makes perfect sense, right?
So what's your Halloween story? Aside from the costumes you've worn and the parties you've been to, do you have a truly chilling story?
Here I am again, thinking about all these scary things while typing alone on my computer. At night. When it's dead quiet. Where else would you be? I'm really an expert at scaring myself.
Okay, I'll share mine. Not a direct sighting though. Mine is mostly just strange dreams and feeling a presence around. But my sibling, she is on another level. She can see things that normal eyes cannot see.
When we were little, she would tell us stories like, "I saw something but I can't describe what it was." And me? I just ignored her...... I.didn't.believe.her.at.all.....That continued until we grew up, and it seemed like her ability slowly faded. But she still remembers those moments so vividly, and every time she tells the story, I get full-body goosebumps.
She said when we were young, what she saw was so hard to distinguish if it was a ghost or a living person because they looked exactly like us. Just like a normal person standing there. She only realized it was a ghost when it suddenly disappeared like a piece of thin fabric that was just carried away by the wind. That's exactly how she described it to us.π»π»π»
I could say she probably inherited that ability from our grandmother. Our grandma was the original. She could really see them. And she was so brave that she would actually scold them and shout at them to leave. Imagine having that kind of courage. She didn't care who or what you were. If you were hanging around her house uninvited, you were going to get told off.
I suddenly miss her while writing this. I miss her cooking too. When my grandma cooked, it was always a feast, always complete with every single ingredient. No shortcuts.
Anyway, Happy Halloween to all of us! πππ
